The Royal Canadian Legion in Vegreville is celebrating 95 years of dedication to the community, veterans and Canada,
The Legion has had many names over the year, originally formed in 1927 by a dozen or so veteran organizations nationwide following World War 1.
Community is key to the legion, they are a strong supporter of many initiatives that have made Vegreville the warm and welcoming town it is.
Rod Stewart, member of the executive branch of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #39, says the legion and town have plans for the special monument.
The Legion still has a strong membership base, according to Stewart.
The Royal Canadian Legion continues to support community of Vegreville, and plan to do so for many more years to come.
