The Easter long weekend is the first notable holiday since Alberta transitioned to an endemic state and lifted the vast majority of COVID-19 restrictions back on March 1st.
The province’s Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Deena Hinshaw recommends that people consider who they are going to be gathering with, and consider what precautions are appropriate for those individuals. She adds, it is critical that anyone who is feeling sick not attend a gathering.
To help reduce risk this Easter weekend, Dr. Hinshaw says to also consider using COVID-19 rapid tests, and to potentially have parts of gatherings outdoors – if the weather is conducive on that particular day.
