Volunteer firefighters in the Town of Vegreville will be getting a new tool to help respond to emergencies faster.
At their last meeting, Town Council voted to approve the introduction and use of flashinhg green lights for volunteer firefighters to use in personal vehicles when responding to emergencies.
Mayor Tim MacPhee says this will be a positive change.
MacPhee adds that volunteer firefighters will still have to adhere all traffic laws, including speed limits and stopping at intersections and red lights. He adds that the Town will also be erecting signage on the way in to town limits to notify motorists of the program.
