Mundare, Alberta – Vegreville RCMP advise Highway 16 westbound at Range Road 175 is now (5:48pm) open to one lane of traffic, however traffic is extremely slow-going and travel is not recommended.
Highway 16 westbound at Range Road 141 is now blocked in both lanes due to a jack-knifed semi. There are several passenger vehicles in the ditch at the location and motorists are urged to stay off the highway due to unsafe conditions.

Mundare, Alberta – On Monday, March 7, 2022 at approximately 4:30 pm, Vegreville RCMP and emergency crews responded to a collision on Highway 16 near Range Road 175 at Mundare, involving two semi trucks. As a result, both westbound lanes have been blocked.
No injuries have been reported, however the Fire Department and emergency crews remain on scene.
It is anticipated that both westbound lanes of Highway 16 will be affected in the coming hours as crews clean up the scene.
The roads are reported to be very icy, as well as very low visibility due to high winds and blowing snow.
Vegreville RCMP advise travel in the area is not recommended and request motorists to avoid the area.
