Cold Lake, Alta. – On March 18, 2024, the Cold Lake RCMP received a complaint of suspected drugs that had been left behind in a hotel room within the city of Cold Lake.
RCMP attended and located approximately 630 grams of suspected methamphetamine and other drug paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.
The Cold Lake General Investigations Section (GIS) initiated into an investigation into the possession of the substances and have since laid charges in relation to the file. As a result of the investigation, Cold Lake resident Brandon Hunter (38) has been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
Hunter had also been arrested and charged on March 15, 2024, in relation to a separate drug trafficking investigation where approximately 283 grams of suspected cocaine and 63 grams of suspected methamphetamine were seized.
After a Judicial Interim Release Hearing, Hunter was remanded into custody and will be appearing in Alberta Court of Justice in Cold Lake on May 8, 2024.
