The annual temporary road closure request from the Vegreville Agricultural Society for the Vegreville Country Fair Parade was one of the items on the agenda this week for Town council.
Mayor Tim MacPhee says at Monday’s meeting approval was given by council for the temporary road closure to accommodate the parade line up at the Vegreville Composite High School. From there the parade will head east down 55th Avenue, turn south down 60th Street, and then east down 45th Avenue to finish at the Ag Society Grounds. The temporary road closure will last from 10am until noon on August 7th.
Mayor MacPhee looks forward to a great summer of big events this year in Vegreville.
The Ag Society also requested that the Town provide barricades and staff at 20 locations to close the parade route on August 7th to vehicle traffic. The request was carried by Town council.
The temporary road closure for the parade will be communicated through the Town’s website and social media channels.
